Oppo Find X7 Ultra review8/10

CONS

  • Bloatware
  • In Short

  • The phone features a bright, curved display, perfect for multimedia consumption, and runs smoothly
  • Despite its impressive features, the phone is not officially available in India

The Oppo Find X7 Ultra has given me a bit of an inflated ego, making me feel like I am an unbeatable photographer who nails every shot. I spent a week with the impressively large and bold-looking Oppo Find X7 Ultra, and I am already daydreaming about landing a spot in National Geographic magazine. It might sound like a stretch, but I am struggling to put into words just how impressed I am with this phone’s camera. However, impressed as I am, I also feel terribly sad that this phone is off the charts for buyers in India as Oppo will probably not take it out of the Chinese market. At least that is what the company has said so far.

The Oppo Find X7 Ultra is priced at CNY 5,999, which is around Rs 70,000 in India. With this price point, it looks like it could really give the Galaxy S24 Ultra, selling for Rs 1,30,000, and the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, at Rs 99,999, a run for they money if it were launched here. So, why wait? Maybe give your friends in China a call to grab one for you. But hold on a sec—check out my review first to see if this is the Ultra you have been waiting for to reignite your passion for photography.

Camera is the king

Switching things up from my usual review style, let’s start by talking about the Oppo Find X7 Ultra’s camera. It’s got an impressive setup with four 50-megapixel sensors. When it comes to zooming, it features two periscope lenses—a first in the industry. These lenses allow for up to 6x zoom, equivalent to a 135-mm focal length, and come with Optical Image Stabilization to keep your shots steady. On top of that, Oppo has teamed up with Hasselblad to develop the HyperTone image engine, which really enhances the overall camera performance. I had the chance to test this camera in Shenzhen, China’s tech hub, known for its towering skyscrapers and bustling shopping streets. And here is how my experience has been with the camera:-
